QR Code

A QR code is a barcode and is often associated with a product or a website. A consumer snaps a picture of a QR code with their smartphone which often requires a special app. No the most aesthetically pleasing marketing tool, QR codes cannot be manipulated very much to look “pretty”. They also take up the packaging design real estate. On the bright side, QR is easy to implement, and is a cost-effective way for quick transfer of information. It has been around for a while and is accepted by consumers.


A convenient and versatile wireless technology, NFC makes it very easy for users to interact at the mere touch or tap of their screen. NFC’s advantage goes beyond [a layer of] packaging - each product is equipped with a unique serial code and is “readable” even after the primary packaging is discarded.
